The article discusses a lot of things, but what is particularly interesting was the topic of testing small-scale boat models in water tanks as compared to full-sized watercraft. Apparently the expense of doing model testing in tanks precludes many trimaran designers from doing it. But one small tri designer told me the sophisticated marine software available nowadays does offer Hydrostatics Calculations.
