New Update on the Dragonfly 14 Trimaran
It’s been awhile since I last posted about Lance McIntosh and his Dragonfly 14 trimaran. It was my fault, not Lance’s … he sent me these updated photos of his self-built beach tri months ago and they somehow got put in “the memory hole.” (Sorry about that Lance).
The 2nd post on the Dragonfly 14 trimaran allowed us to see the finished product. Anyhow, here are 3 photos (and some info) that Lance sent to me many weeks ago. They should have been posted weeks ago.

Dragonfly 14 Trimaran Sail Update
Observations by Lance McIntosh
I recently took delivery of a set of custom made sails from Quantum Sails. Totally professional approach!
They came out and measured up. Plus, they gave me some helpful rigging changes before designing (the new sails) for me. As you can see the result not only looks stunning but also performs well.
I think for me the biggest thing I have noticed, and which I also did, was to design a trimaran using existing yacht sails. Many people do this using Hobie rig and sails, etc. Well, they may or may not work as well as expected.
After all the effort and expense of designing and building your own dream boat, it is more than worth the cast to have a reputable sail loft design and supply you a set of sails tailored for your tri!
