Sailor and self-boatbuilder Bob Trygg notified me last week that he is selling his beautiful (and still practically new) Seaclipper 16 trimaran named TRINKET. He wants to sell this beauty to someone who’ll enjoy her so that he can move on to another boat project.

Gerry has published his own Seaclipper 16 blog, which covers this project, and also discusses its launch this past Spring. I hope he continues to update it because the writing is very good and also includes a nice, personal touch. (more…)

Friday, November 21st, 2008

Sailors with disabilities love sports and recreation as much as anybody. But I never thought about how a trimaran can be such an ideal watercraft … one uniquely qualified to assist disabled sailors.

Disabled sailors are using trimarans (in increasing numbers) to enjoy fast sailing, participate in multihull sailing competitions and have just plain ole’ good fun. Ted Dexter, of Duck Flat Wooden Boats in Australia, opened my eyes to this benefit, which is offered by certain trimarans. (more…)
